The capital of Catalonia has a lot to offer, including great bars and restaurants. As soon as you walk off la Rambla in any direction, small restaurants and bars appear. Enjoy a delicious meal after a day at La Rambla or the Gothic Quarters.

In general there are to different cuisines in Barcelona; the traditional kitchen, and the so called new wave cooking . The following is a list of some good-rated Barcelona restaurants:

Traditional kitchen restaurants
Can Culleretes, c/ Quintana 5
The time has been stopped in this old Spanish restaurant. They serve traditional Spanish dishes with lots of meat. The also have high-quality seafood dishes for a good price.
Barcelona Restaurants
Envalir, pla del Sol 15
When you walk into this old-fashioned Barcelona restaurant by accident, you will most-likely walk straight out again. Brown seems to be the only colour and even the waiters seem antique. But as soon as your meal arrives, you will feel like a real local. They serve full hefty Iberian meals. Starting with a fish soup and ending with an original cr catalana. In between, the main course, full Iberian meat dishes.

La Tomaquera, c/ Margarit 58
This restaurant is a bit different then others. There is always a lot of activity; Locals having loud conversations at the bar, children running around and the chef giving orders to his personnel. There is only house wine and you can t pay with your maestro card. The waiters are kind of brusque and there seems to be chaos all the time. But the whole picture is actually very charming.

New wave cooking
Alkimia, c/ Industria 79
This is one of the best new wave restaurants in Barcelona. It is an excellent way to discover this part of the Barcelona cuisine. The menu is absolutely delicious and worth the money. It received a Michelin star which increased the prices of the restaurant.

Comer Sant Pere 24
Another established new wave restaurant. The chef is a known person in Catalonia, famous for small exclusive dishes. The menu changes almost monthly but is excellent every time.

Moo, c/ Rossello 265
An exclusive restaurant with a great wine assortment, over 500 different wines are on the menu. The meals come in small proportion to fully enjoy the taste. Their specialty is seafood which is recommended.
