Montjuic Park
One of the places in Barcelona that is famous is the Montjuic Park, which you will find it at the southeastern part of the city center of Barcelona. This park has a nice view of the harbor and the city. Its eastern side is almost a cliff. You will find the eighteenth century castle, the Castell de Montjuic or also called as the Montjuic Castle, at the castle you will have a wonderful view of the Mediterranean Sea. You will also find gardens and a museum that is full of Joan Miro’s works, sculptures and paintings. There are also picnic area and playgrounds for children.
There is actually a cable car, the Teleferic de Montjuic, which can take you up to the Castell de Montjuic. From the cable car you will have a fantastic view of the city and you will a bird’s eye view of the Sagrada Familia Cathedral in going up there. You will also pass by some of children’s playground, and picnic places. Or if you have children with you, it is best to visit the castle and the playground. The castle is an eighteenth century castle, it is well preserved for a castle that is ancient already, and was used as a prison during the Spanish Civil War. You will also find some artillery inside the castle, and also a military museum which you will find some pistols, revolvers, sabers, howitzers and all.
