The beauty of a certain tourist destination can be best likened into a diamond before it is mounted unto a beautiful jewelry setting. Loose gem stones can make you assess and appreciate the gem stone you chose for you know it has the best sparkle among the rest. Like in a Barcelona tour, it is not the travel writers that decide what is best and not best in a certain travel destination. It is the traveler himself who can decide what is best in his eyes. Let us scrutinize some probable destination on your Barcelona tour.

Some people find the Old Town popularly known as the Gothic Quarter and Barry Quarter a very satiating way of knowing Barcelona. Besides being satisfied literally due to the presence of restaurants that dotted the place; you will find numerous sites, buildings, cafe and a park to stroll around. What they love most on this part of Barcelona is you will get the chance to get a whole picture of Familia Sagrada as the backdrop.

The Temple Expiatori de la Sagrada Familia is a immemorial architecture since the 1882. It is already impressive from a view from the Old Town and much more admirable from a closer inspection. I really do not know why the Sagrada Familia seems to light up like a very big castle. We should update for the opening of the Sagrada Familia next year. I just could not wait to see the finished work done by todays architect despite the fact that they are trying to copy the work of Gaudi.

Who will ever miss the La Ramblas Boulevard; every tourist would just love to see the silent competition of the artists in this part of Barcelona. Everyone has talents to share. I remember laughing out so loud with friends while jesting with the human statue here. It was really fantastic. Just try to take a walk at the Las Ramblas for free during your Barcelona tour.

Barcelona travel famous sights perhaps may include Las Ramblas, Barri Gotic, Sagrada Familia, Casa Batllo, Casa Mila, Parc Guell, Port Olimpic and Quatre Gats. Yet, when you strut right thorough Barri Gotic everything seems to fade away from its magnificence. Yes the details that are envied by many can be found only in this Barcelonan architecture.

Yes, when they say that Barcelona indeed encourages the artists in you. It was so beautiful that taking a picture seems not enough and seems not to do justice for the place magnificent beauty; the Barri Gothic included.

When you are tired from the La Ramblas escapade then perhaps you still get to relax in Placa del Pi or Barcelona Barri Gotic. A few good cafes with chairs outside the café can get you a moments rest from all the touring. Sometimes if you are lucky street performers really add to the festive atmosphere. Sad to say though the stalls that used to sell some crafts made by the locals are no longer present. A certain street in Placa del pi got a very old Spanish time atmosphere p[perhaps due to the old building and ambiance of the street.

Tapas bars, cafes and a good walking can be done in Carrer de Pi just around the corner of Placa del Pi and if you feel like shopping then perhaps a half day spent in Portal De L will satisfy any shopping spree you would like to have.

Look for the gothic cathedral in this Gothic Quarter and watch out if by chance there is a free choral performance given by the church’s members. The twist and turns of the gothic is really a challenge to those who loved pu8zzles and adventure and a nuisance to those who wanted a straight itinerary. For me though it is fun entering one street and going out to a street you had been before.

Fc Barcelona is not the only reason why Barcelona is getting tourist the whole year round, though it is one of the many factors why tourist flocked to this beautiful city. Tourism in this part of the map of Spain is vibrant and lively for summer. The weather Barcelona and temperature is just perfectly fit for summer activities. The beaches Barcelona in this Catalan city are also in-demand and crowded during this hot season.

Teatre del liceu of the Theatre of the Liceu is just one good reason to be in Barcelona for summer. It is actually the opera house in Barcelona which hosts performances of dance, opera, recitals and concerts. The building has gone through a lot; in fact it was restores twice both from fire incident in 1861 and 1994. This is a very grande place to be for summer.

Casa Batllo is remodeled by Joseph Maria Jujol and Antoni Gaudi. The reason for its ‘Gaudi touch’ though it has a very distinct Art Nouveau and Modernisme. The facade is built from broken ceramic tiles. If you have the chance to visit Casa dels ossos, the local name of Casta Battlo, then do not forget to take pictures of the ground floor. Casa dels ossos means House of bones, which can be seen in its structure.

Passeig de Gracia is one of the famous places for the shopping connoisseur. How could one who loves shopping does not know about this centre when it is one of the main avenues and important business and shopping area in Barcelona which has in its midst the city’s most visited and watched pieces of architecture- Casa Amatller, Casa Batllo and Casa Lleo Morera to name a few and ther are a lot more in store for you in this part of this Catalan city.

Poble espanyol, palau de la musica catalana, gracia, mossos, ajuntament de Barcelona and sarria are some of the must-see in Barcelona.

Barcelona is one destination in Europe that is cheaper than the rest. As they say: You can enjoy some things in Barcelona for free and indeed to the delight of a frugal traveler, it is true.

Barcelona city attractions are mostly for free. To experience the Spanish air and ambiance, a tourist does not have to spend a single euro to see Montjuic Park, stroll and take pictures along Passeig de Gracia Boulevard, or see Gaudi’s arts like Sagrada Familia. The most colorful, creative and innovative human statues are for free in La Ramblas.

Eating out in Barcelona is a cheap affair with large servings of food. Tapas are really the best for those who would like to stretch their money’s value. Barcelona restaurants have cheap menus to start with, as long as you look for restaurants with locals eating in it. Cheap prices do not mean low quality of food. You still got to enjoy a hearty and delicious meal with less than 8 euros for two. Barcelona restaurants are great way of eating and tasting Spanish cuisine.

Barcelona city can not live a day with out something to celebrate. From festivals to concerts if you are lucky and smart enough to book your Barcelona travel long before a festival schedule; then you will enjoy a days wonderful sights in this city for free.

Experiencing Barcelona does not have to be expensive. You can even watch a concert for almost half the price if you ask around in Lieau. Some new artists usually take in the place of the veterans on the same show for a cheaper ticket price.

Barcelona is oozing with history and architecture that you can have a taste of these for free. Now, your only expenses are the Barcelona accommodation and flights. Choosing cheap flights to Barcelona needs only then right planning. Cheap Barcelona accommodations are also for grabs. Or you can either choose from many hostels that are scattered around in the area.

Barcelona has so many beautiful structures to behold. The works of Gaudi that was describe as things from heaven which is made by Gaudi’s hand are housed and made in this city.

But if you know Picasso, the most documented and celebrated artist in Spain. Then perhaps you will not leave Barcelona without a visit to Picasso Museum. Museu Picasso located in Barcelona, Spain contains the most extensive and wide-spread collection of the artworks by Pablo Picasso. Pablo Picasso’s birthplace is Malaga so it was originality though of by Jamie Sabartés, Picasso’s bestfriend, to put up a museum here but it was Picasso himself that suggested Barcelona; for the reason that he has long connections with the city.

Who is Pablo Picasso then? Anyone who has visited Barcelona and had not visited Picasso’s museum will regret it with his life. For the museum is the most visited museum in the city and very much part of history not only of Spanish history but also of World History. Picasso’s paintings depicted the World Events during his era. His artworks were so powerfully made and most controversial that it has passed cultural barrier. One painting which has been so talked about and even traveled to Korea.

The Picasso Museum is always crowded with tourist so make sure that you come early even before it opens. It is not allowed to take pictures inside the museum and others opted to take pictures of the outside building. Picasso also has a museum in Paris, Japan and perhaps other parts of the world.

I suggest that you do a little research on Picasso to appreciate the museum more. One should take not of the periods (Blue period and Rose Period) so you can relate to the pictures and the labels. Getting acquainted of Picasso’s painting names will really make a difference than hitting the museum without any background knowledge at all.

Barcelona is at its best in May. Though most months are also pleasant to get a glimpse of Barcelona, it is in the ‘month of flowers-May’ that everything is just perfect for your travel activities and visit in this city.

Though there are no big events to watch out on the month of May; there are celebrations that you could watch out during your visit. Dia de Treball on May 1 will make the streets busy. On May 11 is Sant Ponc and this time the vendors’ stall will be filled again with herbs, candied fruits, perfumes, sweet wine and honey. Watch out for the latest cars in Salo de L’ Automobil in Metro Espanya during the Fira de Barcelona. Well, the event Marato de L’Espectacle may not be internationally recognized yet the events and performances are really fun and nice which includes all sorts of theater, music and comedians from all over Barcelona. Fiesta de la Biciclleta is also fun for those who would love to join other bikers in touring the city.

If you feel doing something besides watching out for the festival then perhaps join the morning shopping spree expedition at La Rambla, 91 or Boqueria. And join the millions before you who had walked the same streets. Yes, for Boqueria has been around since 18th century.

Or better taste the best sandwich there is in Barcelona streets in Cafe Viena. For spotting a restaurants which serve real Spanish food look for cafes and restaurants that do not cater to tourist’s customers. If they are patronize by local clients then it must serve good food.

Then after a day’s getting to know Barcelona then perhaps you might also want to dance away the night. Grab Barcelona’s nightlife and visit Dry Martini. There are several discotheques that you can visit and relax.

Barcelona travel is a mixture of culture and fun; balancing between the two options of fun and touring is a smart way to spend time in the country.

Travel in Barcelona means a visit to Sagrada Familia and Las Ramblas. These two destinations are just a few of the famous places of interest in Barcelona. However, there are more to see than these iconic sites.

Columbus Monument is just a few minutes away from Las Ramblas, in fact just at the end of it. The statue has a lift that would let you climb to the very peak of the pillar. The windows at the crest of the pillar of the statue which stood 60 meters high from the ground will give you a very fantastic view of the city. This is truly giving you a bird’s eye view of Barcelona. Each window has a sticker telling you what major attraction you can view over the window. It has an entrance fee of 2.20 Euro.

The statue is built for Christopher Columbus in 1888 and thought to be pointing to the New World (it refers to the countries that are non-Eurasian and non-African section of the world in particular the Australasia and Americas). The lion at the bottom of the statue also is impressive in his stance, so do not forget to include him on your Barcelona itinerary.

Here are some interesting facts to take note about Columbus Monument to take note in your Barcelona travel.

From the top, it has the 7.2 m tall bronze statue of Columbus which stands on a round socle and Columbus is portrayed as pointing on a far place of new discovered land- the New World.

The eight medallions represent the people with relations to Columbus namely: Martin Alonso Pinzon, Vicente Yanez Pinzon, Beatriz Fernandez de Bobadilla, Andres de Cabrera, Ferdinand V, Antonio de Marchena, Isabella I and Juan Perez.

There are also four Monovar seated statues which represents the Spanish Kingdoms namely the Catalonia, Leon, Aragon, and Castille.

This one tall standing statue is worth a book to write and discuss about; so my suggestion is to get a whole lot of pictures to take with you home. For every side, every statue has a meaning that a History teacher would love to gaze at.

Have a glimpse of History through the Columbus Monument.

If you are cost cutting with your travel then book a cheap flight to Barcelona with “no-frill” flights.

Booking in advance is also a great approach in saving for a travel.

Be sure to book your flights on mid-weeks (economical flights are offered on these days) and a late evening or early morning for cheap flights.

Another technique on saving on travel is considering booking a flight in another airport, perhaps Girona which is less than 2 hours trip away from Barcelona; if no cheap flights is available.

So visiting Barcelona for a cheaper budget is very possible.

Visit Barcelona and make it memorable. Parade down unto Las Ramblas pavement and groove into Barri Gotic, the old city on your first night in the Barcelona. Maybe you would take a liking to stopover at Parc Guell and Gaudi the next day.

Or perhaps three hours visit and musing at Picasso’s Museum. After the days strutting around the city, take a walk around Passeig de Gracia in the evening and feel the Spanish culture. Take in the calm and joyous evening air, take pictures of the architecture and place, a little window hopping is also good in this fraction of the city.

If you wanted to visit most of the key sites, book a Bus tour that usually cost 20 bucks per person. The fun and knowledge sharing that comes with it is worth it. Besides the splendid sites it offers. If you love the setting of the sun and the activities that goes with it, then; Nightlife in Barcelona is so much kicking in Port Olympic.

A bird’s eye view of parts of Barcelona can be seen in Tibidabo. With it came the Tramvia Blau and Torre de Collserola.

A tour by train and sailboat is really worth the splendid view it gives. A train travel to Montserrat or a sailboat trip in a boat named Las Golondrinas to appreciate the view afar the seas are also good Barcelona activities worth doing while you are in the city.

Barcelona visit should include the witnessing of the Montjuic Fountain in all its glory.

Enjoy your stay and make do good and surf our site.

Barcelona seems to magnet tourist of all races. It is a city where in the atmosphere is beckoning us to see, feel, taste, and explore the city’s every nook and cranny. Is it a usual sight in a European city that birds and man mingle with each other and given equal access to space? Then may be the sight is new to me. This is one of the many wonders that I like most in Barcelona.

Spanish people are passionate and dancing is one of their passions. You can see teens dancing; their body being one with music and entertaining the tourist for free. You can see all kinds of groups just dancing and enjoy hanging out in their own selected niche.

Barcelona architecture is most fabulous. One building will never define the entire Barcelonan architecture. The entirety of the architecture is so diverse to describe. Yet, one might consider noting, each sample of architecture represent every era that Barcelona has succeeded to pass.

One must do thing in Barcelona is beach basking. Never dare miss the opportunity of being in Barcelona Beach and lie down on the sand and conjure dream land as you do so. The sand, sea and sun itself is so mush to tempt every tourist to bask in the glory of Barcelona’s beaches.
