Barcelona like other cities in Spain celebrates festival with such gallantry. Let us start our festival hunt with the opening of the New Year.

Meet the New Year with a visit in Barcelona Cap d’ Any and experience the coming of the year with so much fuss and celebrations. While you are enjoying immensely with Barcelona’s Chocolate Café, Montjuic Fountain in the evening and Guell Park which showcases Antoni Gaudi’s masterpiece; wait for the Three Wise Men in the New Testament for they will arrive in Barcelona by a boat and to be greeted by the mayor and the townspeople.

And these Three Wise men throw candies and barleys to the beaming kids surrounding them. This happens on January 5 the night before Epiphany.

From these two major celebrations, the next festival will happen on the 21st and 24th of March; Viernes Santos and Lunes de Pascua Florida o de Resurreccion respectively. These festivals are done with such religiosity and elaborate preparations.

And prepare to jump in the river during San Juan in Barcelona in the 23rd of June; this is a means of cleansing and having a fresh start. The party is all night under the start and colorful blast of the fireworks and beside fiery bonfires. Partying will last until the next day which is the day of San Juan.

You can also party your way through these festivals the rest of the year: Festival Nacional de Cataluna is celebrated on the 11th of September and La Merc on the 24th of the same month.

Fiesta de la Hispanidad is on the 12th of October while Todos los Santos is on the 1st of November.

And of course Christmas Celebrations and New Year’s for the whole family here in Barcelona are the most awaited celebrations. Barcelona Hotels have so much in store for every one. The spirit of Christmas is very much felt here in Barcelona.
