The Kingdom of Spain has 17 political divisions. As tourist planning to travel to Barcelona, it is but nice to read some truths about the place before packing your bags to hop around the city’s places of interest. It is expected that life and tourist activity is buzzing in this metropolitan area. There are most recommend that you walk when touring Barcelona. There is more to experience and see when you tour the city by foot.

Our first stop is in the heart of Barcelona- Placa Catalunya, it is a massive square which is the location of the old city and Example; and deemed as the city centre of the city. A square means a plaza or open area in a city shaped by intersecting of streets (Rambla de Catalunya, Passeig de Gracia, Portal de l’Angel, La Rambla, Carrer de Pelai, or Carrere Vergara and Ronda de Sant Pere), and often toiled as a garden or collection of not only the arts but also of history’s past as in the case of Placa Catalunya. The Eixemple is a district heavily influenced by Antoni Gaudi’s works.

Pastor de Pau, Joseph Llimona, Francesc Macia, and Deessa are the beautiful sculptors that you can take pictures in the square. Theaters and cafes once exist in Placa Catalunya but it was destroyed in the Civil War; except Café Zurich.

Transportation in this part of Catalunya is not a problem. A day bus and nitbus (nightbus) are available for your convenience; a metro is also available.

Placa Catalunya is just ONE of the many main attractions in Barcelona; and using it as the basis for directions let us list the other main places of interest in the city which are: FC Barcelona and Sants train station in the northwest; Magic Fountains, Museo national d’ Art Catalunya and Colom on the southwest; Catedral and Placa glories Catalanes on the southeast; Park Guell and the Sagrada in the northeast.

Let us discover the beauty and attractions and whys these places are a wonder and pleased the visual senses of the many on the next parts of this article.

Barcelona is a good place to start your travel to Spain. Yet, this article is about practical tips that you should know as a potential traveler to Barcelona. So when we travel to a certain place; it is assumed that you have done your research already about the place. You should have a grasp of what to look out for and what to see and visit in the city. So, that you know what to ask and where to go.

Here are helpful tips for a cheap Barcelona tour for first time travelers.

Whatever the other Barcelona city guide say; Barcelona is still a Spanish city. My point here is: people here speak Spanish; from the taxi drivers to the saleslady to the waiters and almost everybody. So, it is best to have a handful vocabulary of Spanish words to use to ask your way around. So, before hopping the cheapest flights to Barcelona better polish a little Spanish vocabulary. Better buy English to Spanish translation dictionary.

For cheaper Barcelona tours; visit Barcelona during early summer or after the summer season. Summer is a peak season in most Spanish cities; so prices usually go rocket high during this season- Barcelona is not an exemption to this. So museums, historical sights would be crowded so giving you less time to appreciate much of it. And during off season there are so many great packages that you can grab. During summer the beaches are great so book in a Barcelona Hotel with a beach front. Barcelonet Beach, Nova Icaria Beach, Marbella Beach, Nova Mar Bella Beach and Bogatella Beach – check out these Barcelona Beaches.

Look for restaurants that have locals patronizing on it. When locals patronizes a certain food establish it means that it ahs cheaper food prices. But if you get in a restaurant with pictures and English speaking attendant then it is meant for tourist thus very expensive. But getting hold of a Barcelona city guide if you intend to visit all the tourist attractions is much more practical and cheaper than asking your way around.

A comprehensive Barcelona city guide book is not hard to find. Most hotels offer free brochures for tourist visiting the country.

Would Gaudi’s work still in demand during the Valentine’s Day for romantic couples who are celebrating the Heart’s Day? I wonder what would La Ramblas artists up to celebrate the Valentines Day? I was excited on what the Montjuic Magic Fountain has prepared for the day’s celebration?

When celebrating St. Valentine’s Day in Barcelona remember to celebrate it for days if not weeks. There is so much to do in Barcelona that could last for a fortnight. A celebration like Valentine’s Day means that there are great Barcelona travel packages that you can grab; great discounts and superb hotel activities.

Here are some tips if you wanted to fully enjoy your Valentine’s in Barcelona.

I would say that: being in a hurry to take all what Barcelona can offer in a day takes out the fun and the essence of being in this city and celebrating Valentine’s Day. My point is making February14 in Barcelona the culminating day of your stay in the place.

So, arrive five and four days earlier the Valentine’s Day so that you and your partner can enjoy Gaudi, Las Ramblas, Montjiuc Fountain to name a few without so much hurry.

If it is your first time to be in the city; it is but practical to get Barcelona travel packages to ensure that you will get to see what must be seen in this city. You will save time, trying to find your way to various tourist destinations. But if there is a guide who knows where he is going then you can enjoy the sights without a worry of being lost.

So after visiting, shopping and hopping from one landmark to another; do not forget to eat tapas and paella! Then spend a restful night in Barcelona’s Hotels and meet the day feeling rested, happy and satisfied.

I suggest book a hotel near Las Ramblas street wherein you could share a good laugh with your love ones on Valentine’s Day. Make this your final destination in your Barcelona travel packages.

Then perhaps a quite and romantic night spent in the privacy of your room with chilled champagne and delicious Spanish food of your choice; and a night spent talking about Barcelona and life can happily seal your impressive Valentine’ Day celebration.

Let me be your travel guide to Barcelona. If a little sweetener is foremost in your mind then, the chocolate museum located in Carrer del Comerc, 36, 08003, Barcelona, Spain, called Museu de la Xocolata, is a good start. A hot chocolate is also offered in the cafes of this museum. Though, you can taste the delicious hot chocolate in Dulcinea, Gelateria Xocolateria, Cacao Sampaka and La Granja to name a few good places.

The Montjuic Park and Montjuic Magic Fountain is also a great of great importance besides Parc Guell and other Gaudi’s Work such as Familia Sagrada. The harmonizing of water movements with symphony is a very rare occasion to witness when you are in the city.

Barcelona can also be a family get-away. Bring your kids to enjoy at Parc de la Ciutadella or at Pobre Espanyol for treasure hunting experiences and the Barcelona Zoo for a gaze at some animals.

For group travel and excursions, don’t let your travel guide to Barcelona forget la Ramblas. A human statue can also be found in other European cities but in this city; everything is a novelty.

Eating out is not a problem in this big city. Restaurant just sprouted in the city like a mushrooms. There are restaurants that suits everyone’s needs and style. Try out some fancy dining in Restaurante El Raco d´en Freixa or Restaurant Can Fabes.

Barcelona accommodations are also varied. Though students on a limited budget can always get something better to stay in Barcelona Hostels; Luxury Hotels are also scattered in the historical and cultural centre.

With these accommodation just right on the same street of bars and disco pubs to spend the night dancing and enjoying to your heart’s content.

Barcelona, Spain is an impossible place to know and get acquainted with in a short trip. Especially for travelers with a limited stay in a country; so, it is but wise to plan and get to know the major and key tourist destination to see or visit.

It is impossible to see everything in a short trip visit on a city. Yet, how can we utilize our limited time to feel fulfilled and get a grasp of what the city represent or boast.

Choosing the right Barcelona hotel accommodation is also a key factor of enjoying your stay in this place. When you choose a hotel near the historical center it would be very easy to go from one destination to another. The second factor is focus on WHAT to see in this city. If you know what you really wanted to see then it makes the tour for meaningful and with direction. Remember, that Barcelona has so much to offer that even a year’s stay would not make you feel satiated and finish visiting the whole place.

So let us make an itinerary plan with in a short time and get grasp of what you should encounter as a tourist.

Never miss Barcelona’s bizarre human living statue in- La Rambla! Though there are human statues in other places like Vienna, Paris, Chicago, Berlin and Lisbon, to name a few; La Rambla surpasses all these places in popularity and creativity of these human living statues.

Another activity to indulge in such a short trip is a Gaudi tour. The first stop of this tour is La Pedrera, an apartment designed by Antoni Gaudi in Eixemple. Another must-see stop is the Familia Sagrada. It is too much for words to describe this structure. Never leave this city without a glimpse of Familia Sagrada.

Third must-see destination in this location is the Montjuic Fountain. Though the fountain performs in certain schedule; if you can catch one better grab the opportunity; this is another sight which is beyond words.
